As ongoing chairman of Couristan, a high-class carpet manufacturer highly regarded for its elegant area rugs, domestic carpets and unique floor covering styles, George G. Couri has been able to maintain the company’s success since his father George J. Couri and his brother, Basil J. Couri started the business back in 1926.
Couristan was formally called “Couri Brothers” at the time the company began which was fitting for brothers George and Basil. Couri Brothers began as a direct importing business offering area rugs made by hand in Persia. Once the business started to flourish in the early 1950s, Couristan then increased its product line by including premium non-commercial carpets. Today, the company now supplies over 150 products in its 20 collections and is continuing to grow. The variety of collections features cutting-edge indoor/outdoor rugs with either oriental designs or those that are more causal-contemporary.
George G. Couri has recently been honored for his persistent work not solely in the wholesale rugs and carpet sector but his work with endorsing No Child Labor laws as well.
For 92 years, Couristan has continued its extreme success under the guidance of George G Couri by sustaining the capability to supply styles for all preferences with incomparable quality.
